Simply put, chemical peels are powerhouse exfoliants, working their magic on the damaged uppermost layers of skin. When a solution is applied to your face, it works to slough off dead skin; this eventually ‘peels’ off to bring a newer, fresher radiant skin below. During the peel itself, you may feel a slight burning sensation for a few minutes. When the procedure is completed, it’s common to have a sunburn-like reaction, all perfectly normal.
